eSIM compatible phones
An eSIM needs a chip inside the phone, so only certain models can use one. If your phone is on this list and not locked to a carrier, it can run an eSIMTrip travel eSIM. The fastest check: dial *#06# and look for an EID number.
Updated: November 2026
Check your phone in one minute
- 01.Open the phone app and dial *#06# on the keypad.
- 02.If a 32 digit number labelled EID appears, your phone has an eSIM chip.
- 03.On iPhone you can also open Settings, General, About and look for EID and Available SIM near the bottom.
Phones bought on a carrier contract are sometimes locked to that carrier's SIMs. Make sure the phone is unlocked before you buy.
