Samoa travel eSIM: what to know
An eSIM for Samoa is a prepaid, data only mobile plan that you download to your phone before the trip and that connects to Digicel when you arrive. eSIMTrip sells 12 plans for Samoa, from $3.60 for 1GB, 3 days.
Traveling in Samoa
Samoa draws beach lovers to Upolu's Lalomanu and surfers at Savai'i's breaks, usually on 7-10 day trips. Data is vital for checking ferry schedules between islands, translating Samoan, and finding secluded fales (beach huts). No ride apps exist, but taxis use phone bookings.
Coverage and signal
Digicel's 4G covers Apia and coastal areas well, but drops inland like crossing Upolu's central mountains. Download maps before driving the Cross Island Road. Savai'i has patchy coverage outside Salelologa. Resorts often have WiFi to compensate.
Choosing the right plan
Week-long stays need 3GB for basic navigation. Longer trips or frequent photo uploads require 5GB. Since unlimited isn't available, heavy users should opt for 10GB on 15-day plans. Choose 30-day validity if combining Samoa with American Samoa.
Plans at a glance
Validity runs from 3 days to 30 days. The largest fixed plan is 10GB, 30 days for $25.20. There is no unlimited plan here, so pick a data size with some margin; you can always add a second eSIM. Traveling on to other countries? Oceania (8 countries) also covers Samoa.

FAQs for your travel eSIM
Frequently asked questions
Which network does the Samoa eSIM use?
It connects to Digicel in Samoa on 4G LTE.
How much is an eSIM for Samoa?
Plans start at $3.60 for 1GB, 3 days. There are 12 plans from 3 days to 30 days. Prices are in US dollars and final.
Does the Samoa eSIM include a phone number?
No, it is data only. Keep your home SIM on for calls and texts, and use apps such as WhatsApp or FaceTime over the eSIM data while you are in Samoa.
When should I install my eSIM for Samoa?
Install it on WiFi a day or two before you leave. The plan's days only start when the eSIM first connects in Samoa, so nothing is lost by installing early.
Can I top up the Samoa eSIM?
Yes, this eSIM can take another plan for Samoa. You can also simply buy a second plan, which arrives as a new eSIM with its own QR code.
Can I use the eSIM for Samoa in other countries?
It works in Samoa only. If your trip continues to neighbouring countries, a regional plan covers Samoa and the others on one eSIM.
When should I install my eSIM?
Install it one or two days before you leave, on a stable WiFi connection. On arrival you only switch the eSIM line on and turn on data roaming for it. Installing early does not start the validity period.
Where do I find the QR code?
Right after the purchase the eSIM appears in My eSIMs with its QR code, the SM-DP+ address and the activation code. If you only have one phone, copy the address and code and enter them by hand in the phone's eSIM settings.
Can I reinstall an eSIM I deleted?
Usually not. Most eSIM profiles can be downloaded once, so a deleted eSIM cannot be added again with the same QR code. Switch the line off instead of deleting it until your trip is over.
What do I do if I run out of data?
Buy another plan for the same destination and install it as a new eSIM; it takes about two minutes on hotel WiFi. Your phone can store several eSIMs and you choose which one carries data.
Which plan should I choose for several countries?
If all the countries are in one region, a regional plan such as Europe (41 countries) or Asia keeps you online across borders with one eSIM. If your trip crosses continents, the global plan covers 161 countries with a single eSIM.
Why can't I connect after landing?
Check that the eSIM line is on, that it is selected for mobile data and that data roaming is on for it. Then switch airplane mode on and off. If it still does not connect, pick the partner network shown on the destination page manually in the carrier settings.
Can I buy eSIMs for my family?
Yes. Choose a quantity from 1 to 100 at checkout. Every eSIM gets its own QR code, so each person installs one on their own phone.
How do I pay?
You pay for eSIMs from your account credit. Add credit from $30 with USDT (TRC20, BEP20, ERC20, Solana), USDC, BTC, ETH, BNB, SOL or LTC in the secure PayGate checkout that opens on the site. TRON USDT usually confirms in about a minute.
How do I create an account?
Press Get started. Your browser creates an account token that starts with ESM. Copy it or save it as a .txt file, tick the box and the account opens. The token is your login and your password at once, so keep it somewhere safe; there is no email or password to reset.
How do refunds work?
An eSIM that was never installed (within 30 days of purchase) or that never connected at the destination is refunded to your account credit. Credit stays in your account for your next eSIM; it is not paid out to a wallet.
Are the prices final?
Yes. Prices are in US dollars and include everything; what you see on the plan is what is taken from your credit. Network fees for your crypto top-up are shown in the checkout before you pay.
How are prices set?
We compare every plan with the public price of a leading travel eSIM seller for the same data and days, and sell it 40% lower. The comparison was last read on 4 November 2026.
Is my payment information stored?
No card data is involved. We keep your credit balance, your top-up records with the blockchain transaction id, and the eSIMs you bought. Your IP address is not stored in plain form.
